LLS Light the Night Names Cosgrove National Ambassador

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has named actress and musician Miranda Cosgrove the National Ambassador for the charity's very popular and successful fundraising campaign 'Light the Night'.

"School of Rock" put her on the map

Miranda Cosgrove, 19, first came to fame after appearing in the film School of Rock. She later had a supporting role in the Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh before getting a show of her own, iCarly, which made her one of the highest paid child actors in Hollywood.

About 'Light the Night'

'Light the Night' is the largest such charity walk of its kind, involving over 250,000 participants every year. It requires little more than an evening stroll in over 200 communities in North America every fall.

Nancy L. Klein, LLS's chief marketing and revenue officer, gave her enthusiastic support for Cosgrove:

"Miranda Cosgrove is an extremely talented and popular young star and we are so grateful that she is giving her time and energy to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk… LLS is funding the most promising blood cancer research around the world and with the support of participants in campaigns such as Light The Night we are beating cancer."
