Update on the Alison Yowell Story

The Washington Post and WRC-TV 4 in Washington report this morning that Loudoun County Superintendant Hatrick has offered to rehire Alison Yowell after her treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

I had written Mr. Hatrick and others stating that the treatment sounded harsh given Ms. Yowell was undergoing cancer treatment. He wrote back stating the media had not portrayed all of the story - the school district could not go into detail since Ms. Yowell had not given them permission to do so.

Still this is not so great for Alison as she lost her health insurance and will be out of pocket for treating her cancer.

The school district has stated they will look at their leave policies but it appears all parties involved may not be in agreement on changing things.
