Benefit for a 6th-grader with Hodgkin's

Sixth-grader Rachelle Patterson has been battling late-stage Hodgkin's lymphoma for the past two months.

Several volunteers in her Indiana community have organized a fundraiser for 12 year old Rachelle. The event, called "Rallying 'Round Rachelle," will begin at 6 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Primo Banquet Hall on Hadley Road, east of Ind. 267 in Plainfield. It will feature musical performances by acts including Tecumseh Flyers, Stockwell Road, Danny Thompson and the Messarounds, and Creepin' Charley. The four acts play a broad range of styles, from roots rock to country folk.

In addition, there will be a silent auction throughout the evening, with a variety of items, including Colts tickets, airline tickets and autographed sports memorabilia.

Admission is $5 per person, with tickets available at the door. All proceeds will go to Rachelle's family.
Donations also may be mailed to Bank One, 807 Southfield Drive, Plainfield, IN 46168, made payable to "Rallying 'Round Rachelle." (From the IndyStar)
