Former Major League Baseball star Dave Roberts, 38, is reporting that his "scans are clear" and that he is in remission from Hodgkins lymphoma.

Roberts was initially diagnosed in the spring with Hodgkins lymphoma, and has since undergone both chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

This past season, Roberts worked in the front office of the San Diego Padres. However next season he will be back on the field, serving under Padres skipper Bud Black as the team's first base coach and as a baserunning and fielding instructor.
