Leukemia Cup Regatta raises $55,000 for the LLS

The second annual Leukemia Cup Regatta at Bay Point, Florida took place over the weekend near Panama City and raised $55,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), $5000 over their initial goal.

Eighteen boats had signed up for the race, which doesn't crown an overall winner in terms of times or speed, but in terms of how much money the boat raises for the LLS.

The Leukemia Cup Regatta is not one event but a series of them that take place all over the country.

Last year at the national level the Regatta raised almost $4 million for the LLS.
