Hockey Fights Cancer, raising money and awareness
October is Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Month in the National Hockey League, a month-long initiative aimed at raising money for and raising awareness of cancer.
The NHL and the NHL Players' Association have partnered with the following four organizations, to whom they intend to distribute at least $475,000 in research grants and direct financial support:
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Prostate Cancer Canada
ZERO - The Project to End Prostate Cancer
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
