Hockey Fights Cancer in October

Once again the National Hockey League is teaming up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for The Hockey Fights Cancer/LLS campaign to raise money and awareness to fight childhood leukemia, the most common childhood cancer. The money raised through the campaign will go towards funding an LLS portfolio of pediatric cancer research grants.

The Hockey Fights Cancer/LLS campaign will also include Public Service Announcements featuring NHL® players, and a mobile phone text-to-donate campaign promoted during hockey games throughout the U.S. and Canada. The campaign gives LLS chapters across North America the opportunity to leverage and strengthen relationships with their local NHL teams. Together they will host special events at NHL arenas to raise awareness and funds to support the initiative.

"LLS is extremely grateful to the NHL and its players for committing to this initiative for another season," said LLS President and CEO John Walter. "These funds will go a long way to help researchers who are working hard to beat childhood cancer."
