I just finished 3 round (out

I just finished 3 round (out of 6) of chemo. I have been noticing some pain in the inside of my mouth on the side. Not really like chancre sores but feel like maybe it could be an ulcer in my mouth? Is this a side effect? I am on ABVD. I am also going in next week again to see my doc and was going to talk to him them but trying to see if this is normal or not.

Yes it's normal. Very much

Yes it's normal. Very much so. It underscores the importance of oral hygiene and staying hydrated. Chemo works against fast-dividing cells, which is why it's good for aggressive cancer but not so good for indolent ones. However, fast-dividing cells are also found in your hair, which is why it falls out, your entire digestive system beginning at your mouth, which is why food tastes weird, why constipation occurs, why you get mouth sores. Sometimes you can't prevent them, but drinking lots of liquids along with brushing with a soft tooth brush and rinsing with a non-alcohol based mouthwash, for starters, are all measures you can take to try and prevent them.
