My mom was diagnosed with large B cell lymphoma stage 4 around 3 1/2 years ago. She was treated with R-CHOP and everything seemed OK. She just found out the tumors have come back last week. Can she be treated with R-CHOP again or has to find another one?

I relapsed two years after

I relapsed two years after R-CHOP and was told it wouldn't work again. I had surgery and other forms of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, relapsed again and had different types of chemotherapy and radiation to keep it in check. There are maximum doses of chemo and radiation body can tolerate. Oncologists are now suggesting palliative care using a few doses of CHOP without the H as I've had too much. Everyone's situation is different, dose rates and cycles of treatment. Your mother's oncologist is probably the only one who can tell you.
