my husband was diagnosed with Non-hodgkin's lymphoma (DLBCL). He underwent CHOP for 2 cycles due to our financial constraint but was actually advised to have R-CHOP. On his succeeding cycles , can he still undergo R-CHOP and for how many cycles ? thank y

Technically yes he can still

Technically yes he can still receive R-CHOP, despite only receiving CHOP for the first two cycles. As for the number of cycles he can now receive, that has to be determined by his oncologists, but it might depend on when he received the first 2 cycles, the stage of his disease, his overall health, etc.

thanks ross, he is still on

thanks ross, he is still on the 21 day cycle, Hopefully on the third cycle he could already have the R-CHOP. I just hope and pray that 6 cycles of R COP would do.Right now he is better. no more fever, night sweats nor abdominal pain..He just really needs to drink lots of water.thanks again

Sheryl- I guess they wanted

Sheryl-
I guess they wanted to do 8 cycles of R-CHOP and what it is amounting to is 6 of R-CHOP and 2 of CHOP? I don't know his precise diagnosis, nor do I know any factors relating to his health or age etc, but keep in mind that R-CHOP has only been the standard treatment for B-cell NHLs for less then ten years. Much less. Before that it was of course CHOP. and often 6 cycles is what a patient gets anyway. If I were you I would be concerned too, but in reality there probably isn't any great reason to worry that he's not getting as much treatment as he should be getting.

Ross
