If he is like most patients,
If he is like most patients, he will tolerate this well. I did not, but I presented unusually. I was the only person in the office who didn't tolerate the prednisone and it was reduced. Also, the Vincristine caused an after-effect of gastroparesis. Will your friend also be receiving Rituxan? I had a hard time with that one, too. But I assure you - most patients tolerate this extremely well, and he should be able to go to his treatments by himself, although company is always welcome, especially the first time to see how he does and for moral support.
Ask if he will need to have
Ask if he will need to have IV Benadryl before the treatment (if he does have Rituxan). IV Benadryl makes you really drowsy and it would probably be better for him not to drive. Also, he should have someone go with him the first time to help record what information he is given (e.g., being given instructions on additional medication he may need in addition to the chemo drugs).
