Dear Sir / Madam,
I have a first grade duodenal follicular lymphoma, which is spreading and growing steadily but slowly. I would like to know which are the most advanced treatment options and where are the specialists located in the US and around the world.

Duodenal FL makes up a very rare subset of FL. Treatment options seem to vary from surgery to radiation to combination chemotherapy to single-agent biological therapy. Any expert in any hematology department at any of the 21 major US cancer centers can be considered a specialist (www.nccn.org), although briefly reviewing the published literature, especially the more recent publications, suggest a lot of the latest work in this subtype is being done in Japan, this study is one of many recent examples.

Hi, Ross. Thank you very much

Hi, Ross.
Thank you very much for your reply and recommendations. As I live in Brazil, I am looking for a more swift approach, trying yo identify a specialist or excelence center, with focus on my rare disease, prior to make an appointment and travel. Although I could consider Japan, I would rather choose an expert in the US. I would appreciate any other info that might help me.
Best Regards,
Victor

You could try contacting the

You could try contacting the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in Sao Paolo and see if they can give you a referral or a name, or you could go to the SciELO Brasil site and search duodenal follicular lymphoma, since the best way to determine expertise is to see who's publishing in journals. Finally, you could check out the Lymphoma center at MD Anderson, or do a specific search at clinicaltrials.gov to see if there are any ongoing trials pertaining to your cancer type, and contact the coordinator and see if they can give you a name.
