My nephew is 2 1/2 years old. His lymph nodes in his neck has be swollen since x-mas. they did blood work & it came back ok. Is this something we should be concerned about. The drs. tell my sister not to worry that nothing is there. I would like more info

I have been told that if both

I have been told that if both lymph nodes are swollen then you are safe, but if only one side is swollen then you need to be worried. My son has been diagnosed with hodgkin's lymphomia and only on side was swollen and they had to do a byopsy to know what it was....

My son has had swollen lymph

My son has had swollen lymph nodes on both sides of his neck, but a couple larger ones on the right. Sam thing my peditrician says because they're soft and mobile they are ok. I wanted to seen an ENT and he is telling me the same thing. I am now goint to get a second opinion from an ENT because I am now scared to death!!!

I would not worry. My son

I would not worry. My son had a lump in his neck when he was around 7. The doctor felt it and said it was common for boys to have lumps. We watched it for awhile, then it went away. He's 19 now.

So first and for most I would

So first and for most I would get a 2nd opinion. Also I would just like to add that when my middle child was 3 the Dr. was concerned about her lymph nodes, so he referred her to an ENT whom said he was not worried and that because she was still so young that it may be that they are just bigger then her body and that she would grow into them but that he would still like her to be followed up on, of which we have. She is now 7 and it is no longer a concern as she grew into them. I hope this has helped some what. One more thing to add to this REMEMBER doctors are NOT GOD they don't know everything so do personal research (as you are already) ask lots of questions (NEVER be afraid this is precious life we are talking about)and PRAY:-)Although I do not know you or your nephew personally just know he will now be in my prayers. Best of wishes!
