Yes, mantle cell lymphoma is
Yes, mantle cell lymphoma is a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It is not a leukemia. Are they related? Kind of, in that leukemia and lymphoma are blood cancers.
Lymphomas - Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's - affect the lymphocytes or white blood cells. Leukemias arise in the bone marrow and affect many types of cells in the blood.
As for mantle cell lymphoma, just imagine Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) as two categories; now you can fill in those categories with subtypes of HL and NHL. In the NHL category, you would put mantle cell lymphoma, along with maybe 40 other subtypes of NHL.
Mantle cell lymphoma is not well understood. As recently as a year or two ago or so it was described as a slow-growing cancer. Now it's described as an aggressive cancer.

I would be surprised if anyone could give you an answer to your question with any authority, in part because so little remains known about MCL. if I were you I might check out the website of the Mantle Cell Lymphoma Consortium, which has a good amount of info on the disease as well as a helpline they operate in conjunction with the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
