I would like to know if a study has ever been done on athletes- football, baseball, and golfers to see how many have contracted NHL or HL from being exposed to herbicides and pesticides used to treat the playing fields?

I feel pretty confident in

I feel pretty confident in saying that no such scientific study has ever been carried out, not successfully at least. It would have to be retrospective study, meaning that there would be no controls, and all the values would be all over the place. For example, how long did certain players spend on the football field? Well if they're pro players all the players on one team without doubt grew up in different areas, played on different fields, the only thing they have in common is a few years, at most, shared time on a scattering of pro football fields. If you tried to figure out when certain players had developed NHLs, where do you start? This is tantamount to looking for cancer clusters, which are often suspected but rarely ever proven.
