I recently took my 16 year old daughter to the doctor for a swollen lymph node(some pain), fever, aching, swollen feet and hands with whelps itching terribly. Doctor found sore nodes in arm pits and in groan. Doctor said to wait a few weeks and see...????

Your daughter said the nodes

Your daughter said the nodes were sore to the touch? If so, that generally indicates infection, not lymphoma.

Thanks for responding. We

Thanks for responding. We have taken her to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital Monday where her doctor was pretty alerted. He done blood work cat scan with contrast and x rays. Blood showed nothing but liver being off. WBC count was 9.5. Cat scan showed no clot and maybe breaking down of center of enlargement. He said it could be encapsulated. The Rhumatologist said that proper protical was to put her on a strong antibiotic (Clindamycin) and hope its an infection. He said he didn't want to rush to judgement to biopsy it until we did that. We go back Monday if its not Better or gone we are going to biopsy that day. I called their office asking exactly what the Radiologist said in his report but got no real answer. My friend (er nurse) said it probably came back suspicious.
Her lymph node started out sore but when we went to the doctor Monday he mashed all over it and she didn't flench. She says its not sore anymore. She is so extremely tired. She's trying to go to school but she sleeps through most of it. She has started complaining about her throat hurting today.
We have been on antibiotics for two full days and no improvement. Hopefully if its an infection it will start working soon!!
Thanks so much for your response! ! God Bless!! :)

Sounds pretty good. Keep up

Sounds pretty good. Keep up those antibiotics. Although it's surely possible, I've not often heard of cancerous lymph nodes beginning sore, then becoming not sore but still swollen. Nor am I familiar with sore throat as a symptom.

Either way I hope she improves and this proves to be nothing more than an infection she can beat.

Good luck!
Ross
