How often does Mantle Cell Lymphoma occur with other cancers such as CLL?

I'm not sure what you mean.

I'm not sure what you mean. As in a person being diagnosed with both MCL and CLL? I'd be surprised if there were statistics out there for this kind of dx. I could see stats suggesting that there's an emerging subtype of B-cell lymphoma that is somewhere between MCL and CLL-- kind of-- but having both independently occurring at the same time?

I'm not sure if both are

I'm not sure if both are occurring independently, but the patient has been diagnosed with both. R CHOP has been offered for treatments but the first infusion of Rituxan was not tolerated. The doctor went ahead with CHOP a few days later and will try the Rituxan later. Most curious on what make be the long-term prognosis with both and what others feel is the best treatment direction for both.

I had a bone Marrow test done

I had a bone Marrow test done and cd markers are pointing to MCL . my cat scan came clean with no lymph nodes oy lymph related problems. my FISH test is negative, no chromosone abnormalities, my kareotype is normal, cells are small round nuclei. i have no symptoms. but bone marrow is affected due to abnormal cd markers. my doctor says he does not think i have mcl but it is low grade b cell lymphopoliferative deseace which is behaving like cll. my question is what do i have do i have indolent mcl, leukmatic mcl or even something inbetween cll and mcl or do ihave both mcl and cll.

What is the difference

What is the difference between Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin Lymphoma?

Howard- MCL and CLL and about

Howard-
MCL and CLL and about 40 other cancers are considered non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. The rest are Hodgkin's. The main difference is the shape of the cell in Hodgkin's, which has recognizable characteristics, as well as the fact that Hodgkin's disease spreads in an orderly manner, from neck to clavicle to chest etc, while NHLs have no such pattern.

It's better to think of lymphomas as being a diverse group of cancers that affect the B or T cell lymphocytes but otherwise don't have a lot in common.

Regarding MCL and CLL, the

Regarding MCL and CLL, the prognosis for MCL is in general considerably worse than the prognosis in CLL. CLL is indolent, but in some cases considered curable. MCL is poorly understood, has few established and reliable treatment options. Ordinarily the addition of rituximab would boost survival; without it, prognosis also goes down a bit.
