Keeping in mind that such symptoms could indicate a lot of things or nothing at all, neurological symptoms like numbness and muscle weakness in general can potentially be an indicator of non-Hodgkins lymphoma (NHL), according to Everyone's Guide to Cancer Therapy, revised 5th edition. Ed. Andrew Ko M.D. et al.
However, far more often than not, the first symptom people experience will be related in some manner to the body's lymphatic system-- i.e. lymph nodes, in your neck (cervical), shoulders (supra-clavicular), chest (mediastinal), armpits (axillary), and then more down your torso, abdomen and into the groin and elsewhere. They may experience pain in the regions where their lymph nodes have swollen, or a tumor has developed. Hands, while rich in lymphatic vessels, aren't home to major lymph nodes and aren't typically homebase to the first signs of NHL.
Only a doctor can diagnose whatever it is that's causing your symptoms, so I urge you to go see a doctor--not because I think you have NHL, not at all, I have no idea what you have or don't have--but because it's important and appropriate to do so.
