can any one tell me about the prognosis if primary ocular lymphoma

sd10: that is a rather rare

sd10:
that is a rather rare lymphoma presentation, and often it isn't discovered until it has metastasized into the central nervous system (well, brain really). However, even though I'm not certain that there are well established treatment guidelines for this type of lymphoma, it seems that radiotherapy is the best and most successful treatment and that more often than not it's curable. One reason this might be the case is because our eyes and orbital sockets are short on lymphoid tissue, so it's not a common secondary site for lymphoma to spread to, nor is it terribly amenable to fostering a microenvironment for a primary tumor.

Thanks Ross My mother has

Thanks Ross
My mother has been suffering with a sore eye and head pain since August- She has seen an eye specialist, they have now discounted arteritis, she has had a ct scan which does not show anything and has just had full blood tests for which we are awaiting results to see if non hodgkins lymphoma has returned. (she has been in remission for 9/10 years) She is feeling increasingly unwell, weak, faint and despite having had steroids to control the headpain and soreness, she is still suffering. I looked on the internet and read about primary ocular lymphoma and her symptoms seemed to fit. We willhave to await the results next week, but just wanted to know a little more about it.
Mnay thanks for your explanation.
