help me please help! have had all symptoms of non hodgkins well over a year..positive lymph node on mamogram, chest x ray and ct scan...yet it waxes and wanes..have chills drenching night sweats sleep up to 20 hours a day itchy all over, yet yesterday I was belittled for half an hour by this surgeon
he refuses to remove or biopsy. I have a grossly enlarged thyroid which was biopsied on Feb 2 and came back inconclusive for follicular thyroid cancer or abnormal cell growth. he will grudgingly remove half my thyroid. i am in tears because of all of this. I have only one dr who listens cares but she is my pulmonoligist she has ordered all tests to get me this far.
if anyone can suggest anything please help me! I am afraid and basically alone in this fight and I dont know how much longer i can go on. ty all janey
I don't know where your from, but aren't there other other doctors in your area that you might visit to obtain a second opinion (oncologists would be prefered) ?? By the way, the symptoms specified by you are characteristic for non hodgkins as well as hodgkins lymphoma. All the best. Kasia
Hi Janey I think you need to get biopsied. I have not had any of the symptoms you mentioned except I have had abdominal pain and yet I have been diagnosised with follicular B cell lymphoma. There are too many doctors out there to be treated harshly by any one doctor. Find other doctors to deal with your issues.

Since the early 1970s, incidence rates for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma have nearly doubled. Improved diagnosis has contributed greatly to the increase as doctors better understand cancer of lymphocytes and can distinguish it from other diseases.
