Paraneoplastic syndrome from reoccurring cancer or radiation treatment damage? Treated with CHOP-R and ABVD 4 yrs. ago. Now acute brachial plexus dysfunction (lost use of hand). Biopsy says cancer, probably have stem cell transplant. Help for hand?

Paraneoplastic syndromes are

Paraneoplastic syndromes are associated with cancer, not cancer treatment, so I wouldn't think radiation had anything to do with the hand issue. rather since it's neurological, it gives even more weight to the cancer as a cause. if your own nervous system is causing the damage, there are ways they can suppress that, like with steroids (such as prednisone, which you've had before), plus eliminating the cancer would go a long way, but that's of course easier said than done.

Cancer is first concern.

Cancer is first concern. Assuming stem cell transplant will help. Loss of hand fine motor skills makes everything harder. Chemo treatment to start in a week and soon more doctors will get involved. But after understandable wrong diagnosis following pain and nerve damage (biopsy 4-5 months earlier was negative), feel need to push point. No progress/change with PT that was suggested before learning cancer. Focused on cancer now and approach is to wait and see about nerve recovery. Know nerve regeneration is slow. Damage may be permanent, now, but wonder if there might be things that could be done, should be done. Yes, have read about some medicines to suppress nerve damage. Do not know anyone who has lost the use of their hand due to cancer.
