Am I really sick? Can it be
Am I really sick? Can it be something else besides Cancer?
So the needle biopsy results show possibly a rare form of Lymphocite Predominant Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Very scary.... The 2nd biopsy, surgical removal of partial lymph node in Left Axilla comes back as formative stage of hodgkins and the pet scan confirms isolated to left axilla with abnormal energy usage.....
So now what? We do nothing and see if a 3rd report is conclusive. Really?
Has anyone with enlarged lymph notes ever been mis-diagnosed as lymphoma? Can anyone reply with clues towards a possible new option?

In 1965, I was diagnosed with Cat Scratch Fever. In 1988, when I was diagnosed with Lymphoma, my radiologist was able to get the original slides from 1965 and sent them to Stanford and they identified the disease as Large Cell Lymphoma. The lymph nodes that were removed in 1988 were a combination of Large Cell non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and and Lymphocite Predominant Hodgkin's. To add insult to injury, I currently have enlarged lymph nodes in my groin and in my perotid gland. The biopsies on these came back negative.
There appears to be some wiggle room here - especially with some forms of Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's Lymphomas (the 2 that I had in 1988 apparently are closely related).
It has been my experience that, during biopsies, it is not uncommon for the doctors to remove all affected nodes. I would probably go for a 2nd opinion in your case. If your lymphoma is stage 1, surgery may do the trick (as it did for me in 1965).
