Well I think what is meant by
Well I think what is meant by 'lymphoma of the hair follicles' is probably a cutaneous (skin) non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, the lesion of which is found around her hair follicles. The hair is not really involved, in this case it's most just a location. The skin involvement is the important part. Lymphomas are often classified by what is determined to be the primary sight of the cancer, i.e. where it begins. So "lymphoma of the _____" insert the body part name since they can occur almost anywhere.
So I would check out the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation for more info on this. Again, it's probably just a localized cancer on the skin. Maybe during her biopsy they removed the whole thing.
