My husband recieved a CT scan for an automobile accident. The radiologist stated he had no injuries, however there were enlarged lymph nodes in many regions throughout the neck & abdomen. The dr wants a PET scan, is this common presentation for lymphoma?

It is, yes, although it

It is, yes, although it doesn't automatically mean that your husband has a form of lymphoma; perhaps they're enlarged as an immune response to the car accident. The PET scan will be more definitive, in that it will illuminate whether or not the enlargements are potentially cancerous, although it won't give him or you an actual diagnosis. that can only be provided through biopsy which would likely be the next step if the results of the PET scan warrant it.
