I have had an ongoing rash for about 5 years. I went to the dr. to have a biopsy. It came back as dermatitis. Is there anything they should do differently to determine if it is a lymphoma instead of just routinely looking under the microscope?

Was the biopsy preformed on

Was the biopsy preformed on an enlarged lymph node? That is the only biopsy that can determine if you have lymphoma.

I too have had a bad rash for

I too have had a bad rash for the last six months. The biopsy said hives but my PCP said he got it wrong and is sending me to another dermatologist next week. Can I ask him to specifically look for lymphoma of the skin? I also have stage III metastic thyroid cancer and found that there is a thyroid lymphoma. The symptoms for both are similar where I have lost weight and have heavy night sweats as well as fatique. Would that cause the rash? I just finished my radiation treatment and have to see my Endocrynolist next week too. Thanks.

I'm kind of in the same

I'm kind of in the same situation. My rash came back as Chronic Dermatitis but I really want another opinion. I'm curious to know if the dermatologist put anything in my info that I was questioning lymphoma. I've read if the pathologist isn't clued into look for it, they can miss it. So yes I would definately ask them to look for it specifically! I'm not a hundred percent but I havr read that some of the treatments for cancer can cause a rash. Hopefully this is the case for you!

God bless,
Tammy

The biopsy was done on the

The biopsy was done on the rash. If I do have this type of lymphoma it starts in the skin but can spread to the lymph nodes.
