Can I have surgery to takeout my infected lymphnodes in my chest to get rid of the lymphoma?

I am an NHL survivor NOT a medico of any description and to my understanding surgical removal of nodes is not a realistic means of a cure for NHL. There are too many nodes and stripping the entire lymphatic system from the body is not realistic and would most likely leave the patient dead.

Unfortunately, there is no magic bullet but treatment today is much more tolerable than when I began my campaign against NHL in 1991. With a long histroy of chemo and radio therapies, surgery to remove uncomfortable nodes as well as more recently, Mabthera, the most advantageous thing to do is work on a positive mental attitude - remain positive and at the same time realistically honest with yourself. Researching your body, your disease and your treatments will build your confidence and your courage; take pride in the inner strength you find within yourself; forgive everyone you haven't yet forgiven in life (including yourself) regardless of what they may have done - forgiveness is a decision not an emmotion!!

Make sure those you love know it; get straight with God; spend time with children, lost in their world; make a will; be gentle with yourself.

With my kindest regards.
