So he's back on chemo for
So he's back on chemo for Hodgkin's or an NHL? What's the staging? Any other info you can offer would be helpful. Now, it's going to be hard to say either way, but are you familiar with the IPI? If not, you can read about it HERE or HERE.
Your ex-husband? Are you
Your ex-husband? Are you hoping for the best or the worst ? ;)
You don't say what form of NHL your former husband has, which is all important here. More so than staging, which in blood cancers means less than it does for solid cancers. For example, an advanced case of Diffuse Large B-Cell that is responsive to treatment has a far better prognosis than an early stage of Mantle Cell.
To clarify, do you mean to say that after one relapse of NHL and successful treatment, your former husband was subsequently diagnosed with Hodgkin's (HL) as a secondary cancer, was treated and has relapsed for HL?
A first relapse of Hodgkin's generally requires High-Dose chemo and a stem cell transplant. There is some risk of mortality there as well as increased risk for subsequent relapse. There is no standard of care for a third relapse of Hodgkin's and prognoses are generally poor.
There are considerations more important here than IPI or FLIPI indices and that information will be only minimally useful to you at this point.
