I think your concern is a reasonable one, and it shows you're being vigilant about his compromised immune system. that said, I don't think anyone here is even remotely qualified to say. It's not a question I've seen before, that I can remember. More used to seeing that-- since he's on Rituxan-- he can't get a flu shot, but those around him would probably be recommended to get one. He should also be vigilant when it comes to any time spent in any medical / health units, for chemo etc since not only does the central line offer the quickest and easiest means of infection (everyone who wants to touch it should be asked to put on gloves or wash their hands on his presence) two recent papers have pointed out that the majority of health professionals are likely wearing scrubs or uniforms that are contaminated with hospital-acquired infections, and those infections linger everywhere, even on the privacy curtains. Even on curtains that are less than a couple days old.
But the dog-to-human thing, sorry. Not even comfortable venturing an opinion.
