New member - just diagnosed

I have recently been diagnosed with a low grade non hodgkins lymphoma (B-cell, marginal?) and my spleen is huge. I am scheduled to have Rituxan treatments in hopes my spleen will shrink.

I am waiting on a second opinion from M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital to confirm the diagnosis before I begin treatment.

My Doctor seems to think that the survival for my exact situation can be measured in decades, but it is not curable at this time. My main problem is that my spleen is huge. I am worried it may rupture. The doctor wants to see if it may shrink after the Rituxan treatment (Rituxan with Prednisone, no other chemo initially).

I would appreciate any relevant information.

Thanks
