follicular dendritic cell sarcoma/tumor

I am new to here. My mum, 78 years old, was diagnosed with a rare disease called follicular dendritic cell sarcoma/tumor. I hope someone can explain to me about this disease.

The best way to learn is to

The best way to learn is to Google this with every variation you can think of. I look under: follicular dendretic cell sarcoma, follicular dendretic cell tumor, FDC sarcoma, FDC treatment, FDC tumor, etc.

Most of what you'll find are medical reports and I recommend you print them out and try to wade through all the medical terminology.

Finding an oncologist who knows what they're doing is a challenge because this is so rare. That's why doing your own research is so vital. The first oncologist we met with had not done any research on this and actually told us he didn't consider it a malignancy and didn't recommend any treatment other than surgery.

It has a high rate of reoccurrence and a high chance to spread to other areas, so aggressive treatment is important.

Best of luck to you and your mother. She's lucky to have someone like you to help learn about this disease.
