A daughter searching for hope

My mother was first diagnoised with HL 37 years ago. It is a miracle that she survived the treatment and medicine has come such a long way. She was diagnoised just a few weeks agp with HL Stage IV again. The doctors continue to preach about "the Cure", but after looking at the MRI of her spine, I can't help but feel we are fighting a losing battle. I know how important it is to remain positve and I know that the doctors have to believe that they are curing their patients, but I also know that not everyone wins this battle. There is not a spot on her back that doesn't have the shadow of a tumor on it and doctors keeping using the term "diffused", which I assume means widespread. If there is anyone out there who can give me some direction I would greatly appreciate it.
Hello. I am sorry to hear about your mothers condition. I am a cancer survivor and am in remission and I can't help to think that I will have to go through it all again someday. I know it is not easy but positive energy and love can go a long way as a person is also going through treatment. I do hope that your mother gets better again. She did it once and she can do it again. Best wishes.
Good Morning The doctors have told us that it is unusual for patients to have HL come back after this many years and would have been more likely for it to have been a different type of cancer. Congratulations on your remission, keep up with all your follow ups and I am sure your going to have a full, wonderful life.
I also with you and your mother the best and pray that things turn out in a positive way for the two of you. Please let us know how things go as well.
My father was diagnosed Monday with Hodgkins Lymphoma. We know nothing and his regular doctor has not called us back about an appointment with the oncologist. His sister died from non-hodgkins about 10 years ago. I am a worrier! Any advice?
I just found the website. My father is battling diffuse B cell lymphoma. He has a large mass in his left psoas muscle, 5cm, and his third vertebrae is collapsed due to tumour. He lost feeling in his left leg and radiation seems to have temporarily helped that situation. He is in the middle of his CHOP-R treatment, but it has taken its toll. He has lost over 35 pounds and is skin and bones. He just turned 65. He appears to be deteriorating very rapidly, and the doctors have not been forthwright at discussing his condition. I feel at a loss, not knowing how much further he will deteriorate and how much more pain he can tolerate.
