Hodgkin's Disease Diagnosis... Sweet.

Hey everyone!

I too have been recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's. Happened during a routine chest xray in mid November. The chest xray showed a huge mass in my chest, right above my heart, compressing my left lung.

Just like apple2 said, keep on smiling... The other option is to keep on crying. I prefer the first option...

to henry in SF, btw, I'm in Santa Cruz. My doctor had me: chest xray, then chest/abdomen/pelvis CT scan with IV and oral contrasts. We performed a PET/CT scan with radioactive sugar to help stage the disease. He also did a bone marrow biopsy and sent me in for a testicular ultrasound (to make sure nothing was going on down there), a pulmonary function test and a cardiac echocardiogramm.

All my test are now done, I'm meeting my oncologist on Tuesday. YAY! I just can't wait to just start this treatment and go on with my life!

Glad I found somewhere to discuss and share other people's and my experiences of dealing with this crappy situation...

Mike

p.s. like my doctor said, if he had to pick a the cancer he'd get, he'd pick Hodgkin's... Somewhat reassuring.

Hello Mike. I just recently came across this site and have been recently diagnosed. I am hoping to meet people who are in the same situation or are in remission so it gives us all hope. Take care.
