Hello. I am happy that I found this website. There seems to be a lot of information. This forum seems fairly new but I hope people will start posting. Sometimes I like being part of something brand new. I was diagnosed with HL 3 weeks ago. I am at stage IIA. It looks like I will need to do chemo for 5 to 6 months. I have started to buy a collection of baseball caps. What can you do:) I will keep smiling!
Hi apple2,
I was diagnosed with HL 2B 3 months ago, and am going through chemo at the mo. I'm looking for a forum to discuss this with anyone with the disease as well. While everyone is supportive, the docs are good, I still feel I'd like to discuss this with people who've gone through this themselves. ... Hoping for a reply.

I was diagnosed with HL stage 2A on 7/7/07. I went through chemo until november of that year and did radiation for a couple of weeks in Dec. I've been great ever since!!! I've had follow up CT and PET scans and everything has turned out normal! My 2 words of advice: STAY POSITIVE!!! Seriously...your mind controls your body. I'm not going to lie chemo sucks...but if you can try to stay positive the time will fly by!
I found a lump above my left collarbone, once I had that removed I got a Pic line...which only took about 10 minutes to put in and I was out of the hospital with very little pain. ABVD were the 4 different drugs that I got...one of those gave me red blotches on my hands...so we finally figured out it was from a specific drug so I had to put my hand in ice for about 30 minutes each time I had treatment. I did lose a majority of my hair...but I never shaved it. I just wore some cute hats and I did end up getting 2 wigs. The best part was that I didnt need to shave my legs or armpits!! hahah
Hang in there guys!! You are not alone! =)

Since the early 1970s, incidence rates for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma have nearly doubled. Improved diagnosis has contributed greatly to the increase as doctors better understand cancer of lymphocytes and can distinguish it from other diseases.
