Just started Chemotherapy

Hello to all. I am James. I am from Boston. I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma 4 weeks ago. I have just started ABVD I have been feeling waves of nausea. Nothing to major. Will it get worse? Do the waves turn to consistent nausea? Just trying to see what I am in for. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. James.

Hi James,

I'm sure it depends on your body and how you react, however my husband was on ABVD when he first started treatment for his HL. While he was nauseous at first, the effects of the nausea definitely built up in his system as his body was less able to recover from the treatments. That does seem typical. However, every drug cocktail effects everyone differently, so there is no guarantee that will hold for you too. Sorry that's not a real specific answer!

Best wishes to you during your treatment. Hang in there and take each day at a time.

Hi James. I just wanted to stop by and wish you all the best and hope that your treatment goes well.

:)

Nancy

Since the early 1970s, incidence rates for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma have nearly doubled. Improved diagnosis has contributed greatly to the increase as doctors better understand cancer of lymphocytes and can distinguish it from other diseases.
