Drug induced Diabetes

On March 23 my Doctor prescribed to in crease my pretosone to 40mg to combat GVHD . On March 28 my blood pressure rose to 188/100. I got a bsood pressure pill that brought it down to 177/100 by bedtime. On Monday March 30 after a visit to my nurse practionar I learned that my blood sugar was 453. She put me on insulan 4 times a day. Novolog 3 times a day. the units depending on my blood sugar reading. I was also taking Lantus at bed time,10 units. My blood pressure is now under control, BUT not my blood sugar. After a visit to the nurse practioner Wednesday April 8 she reduced my Pretosone down to 30mg. The only time my blood sugar has gotten under 200 is in the morning--twice. She also increased my Lantus to 20 units at night. My blood sugar ranges usually between the mid 200,s and mid 300,s.

Has anyone out there had a similar experience, and if so, how in the world did you deal with it? I am getting really depressed.

I am 150 days post transplant on Easter.
