Hello, My name is Mark, I am 27 years old. A couple of days ago my cousin noticed a lump on the side of my neck close to my ear. It is about a couple of cm in diameter. Could this be due to some infection or what is the chances that it could be lymphoma? I have not been sick for about 3 months now. I do get tired often but that also might be due to the fact that I work a lot. Any advice? Just worried....
Mark,
The only way to really know what is going on is to see your doctor. This may go without saying, but to prolong the visit will not solve anything. I can completely understand your worry.... My husband was 29 when he found a lump in his neck. He was working in construction at the time and attributed the "tiredness" to his physical job. However, it became apparent that his energy level was much different than before. Take stock of what is "normal" for you and share these changes with your doctor. If you know sooner, you can deal with the results that much faster.
Best wishes to you,
Shana
