IHOP gives away free pancakes as part of its annual fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Customers who take advantage of the free food are encouraged to make a donation to the charity. The giveaway takes place from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. today.
To celebrate National Pancake Day, each year International House of Pancakes (IHOP) offers a FREE short stack of pancakes to all guests visiting participating restaurants. Each year, LLS volunteers and IHOP staff come together to collect donations for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission in lieu of payment for pancakes.
This year, IHOP is hoping to stack up more donations than ever before, with a goal to raise $1.75 million, for a total of $5 million in five years with its National Pancake Day fundraising effort.
You can get involved by dining at your local IHOP or by volunteering to collect donations in one of the participating IHOPs on National Pancake Day each year. For more information or to find out how to volunteer please contact Rachel Holt at the Society: (703) 960-1100, ext. 228 or email rachel.holt@lls.org.

I loved pancake.. The
I loved pancake.. The sweetest food in the universe. February 23rd is National Pancake Day – and it in no way, shape, or form whatsoever is official. It was made up by IHOP. (By the way, the National Waffle Institute has more or less indicated to give IHOP the finger.) That said, IHOP is giving out free pancakes, but is asking that patrons indulging in free pancakes on the 23rd of February to make a donation, as any donations go straight to the Children's Miracle Network, a charity that delivers free medical care to children. (It's not like getting coffee at IHOP will send you running for payday loans.) It's a fake holiday, but it IS for a good cause.
